The jacket brand Didriksons uses Ongoing WMS to increase warehouse efficiency for their logistics

Fast-growing Didriksons have witnessed increased warehouse efficiency when changing warehouse management systems to Ongoing WMS.

Didriksons manage their own warehouse operations at their site in Borås, Sweden and started using Ongoing WMS two months ago.

”The implementation of Ongoing WMS went extremely fast. We could basically start working in the system right away. In general, every process has been more efficient”, says Madeleine Törnvall, Head of Supply Chain at Didriksons.

Didriksons was founded over a hundred years ago at Grundsund, a small fishing village at the Swedish west coast. Now, Didriksons is one of Scandinavia’s leading brands for outerwear, specializing in jackets that protect people from all kinds of harsh weather conditions.

”Some years ago, we had few webshops as customers but now we see an increasing demand for our system among e-commerce retailers. I am happy to have Didriksons as a customer. The benefits they see using the system shows that Ongoing WMS works perfectly for e-commerce companies handling their own warehousing”, says Fredrik Einarsson, CEO Ongoing Warehouse

Ongoing Warehouse provides every customer with a personal software developer to help them make changes in the system to optimize their warehouse efficiency. Karl Henke, software developer at Ongoing, has helped Didriksons when they needed support.

“The support has been outstanding. We are very pleased with Karl, we can always get in contact with him and he helps us right away”, continues Madeleine Törnvall.

Ecommerce success Spares Nordic teams up with Ongoing WMS

Spares Nordic, who runs teknikdelar.se and spares.se, selects Ongoing WMS as warehouse management system.

”It was a big challenge transitioning to Ongoing WMS just one week before Black Friday. Thanks to the integration possibilities along with great support from Johan at Ongoing, we managed to quickly go live with the system”, says Michel Alshammari, COO at Spares Nordic.

Teknikdelar.se saw an overwhelming increase in sales related to Black Friday last November. The Norwegian site Teknikdeler.no increased sales with 385% compared to previous year’s Black Friday. To manage the enormous order volumes, Spares Nordic invested in Ongoing WMS.

“We were able to see an increase in efficiency that Ongoing WMS added to both inbound- and outbound delivery. The number of orders we fulfilled increased with 20-30%, using the same workforce.”, Michael continues.

“It is great that Ongoing WMS is able to significantly increase efficiency in Spares Nordic´s warehouse operations. In a time were demand for ecommerce is exploding, it is important for online stores to have control over orders and fulfill them efficiently. Ongoing WMS specializes in these two crucial elements and seek to help more online stores with warehouse optimization”, says Fredrik Einarsson, CEO at Ongoing Warehouse.

Spares Nordics most successful site Teknikdelar.se sells Mobile & PC spare parts and accessories online. Teknikdelar is market leader in its niche in Scandinavia and aims to further strengthen their market position by expanding to Denmark and Finland.

“With the expansion we aim to offer more people the possibility to repair their broken phones which benefits both the customer and the environment. With Ongoing WMS, we can remain control and efficiency in our warehouse as we grow”, Michel concludes.

GN Logistics terminal in Halmstad

GN Logistics grows with Ongoing WMS

GN Logistics is a 3PL provider and subsidiary to GN Transport. They have been using Ongoing WMS for many years in all their three warehouses located in Halmstad, Stockholm and Luxemburg.

”We have been a customer to Ongoing Warehouse for almost 10 years. Since then, we have been able to grow and manage many customers, much thanks to the integration possibilities Ongoing WMS offer. Now we manage over 50 companies’ logistics in a total warehouse area of 25 000m2 in Ongoing WMS. This greatly simplifies work for our staff because they only need to learn one system”, Says Mikael Trevik, IT manager at GN Transport & GN Logistics.

Mikael continues “Seeing that Ongoing WMS is web-based, we can work in the system from any device we want, without any installations. It also allows us to easily work with handheld units such as scanners”.

“GN Logistics has been a customer since Ongoing WMS was in an early stage. They have experienced the development of our system over a long period of time, with more functions and ready-made integrations being added on frequently. This has been beneficial for them and our other customers. Adding more functions and integrations is a key focus going forth, which will strengthen our already strong market position”, Says Fredrik Einarsson, CEO at Ongoing Warehouse

In 2013, GN Logistics expanded their business buy acquiring a 3PL company in Halmstad. A couple years later GN Logistics expanded to Luxemburg and established a terminal of 4000m2. The warehouse in Stockholm started its operations in 2018. Most of the warehouse capacity is allocated to the terminal in Halmstad were GN Logistics also has their headquarter.

“After using Ongoing WMS in Halmstad, it was obvious for us to use Ongoing WMS in Stockholm and Luxemburg as well. All the goods that we handle are scanned at out- and inbound delivery. Scanning and integrations to our customers systems makes both GN Logistics and our customers get one hundred percent control over the goods”, continues Mikael.

Beyond Nordic gains control over their warehouse operations using Ongoing WMS

Outdoor clothing brand Beyond Nordic gathers control over their warehouse operations and reduces administrative work with Ongoing WMS.

”We sell to many different markets and have separate Shopify stores for each geographic market. Before using Ongoig WMS, we had a messy warehouse management that demanded much administrative work. Ongoing WMS has integrations to the Shopify stores we use and therefore gathers our stock balance and orders in one system. This reduces administrative work and allows us to get an overview and good control of all our warehouse operations”, Says Patrik Tankred, Co-founder of Beyond Nordic.

“Also, It takes very little time for Ongoing to set up a new Shopify integration, which allows us to expand to new geographical markets very easily”, Tankred continues.

Beyond Nordic sells their clothes online. Their outdoor clothes are specially made for hiking but with a stylish design they work just as well in the city. Beyond Nordic started their webshop in 2019 and is growing rapidly. Beyond Nordic partnered up with Ongoing WMS a few months ago.

”An advantage for both us and our customers is that Ongoing WMS is web-based, especially since it makes the onboarding process extremely fast. Our potential customers immediately get access to a demo version of Ongoing WMS where they can try out the system before deciding to become a customer”, Says Fredrik Einarsson, CEO at Ongoing Warehouse.

Einarsson continues, “Our great range of readymade integrations also allows the customer to go live with the system in a very short period of time”.

”It was very easy to start working with Ongoing WMS. We got a live demo from Fredrik and decided soon after that we should proceed. It was easy to learn the system and we could start working in Ongoing WMS almost right away”, Patrik Tankred concludes.

“With Ongoing WMS we stand well suited for further expansion in Sweden”, Says Petter Grålumstuen, IT & Logistics manager at Kitch´n.

Kitch´n is a Norwegian based company that sells kitchen utensils from physical and online stores. The company has recently launched a redesigned website, aimed to the Swedish online market. At the same time, Kitch´n has been building up its warehouse in Sweden, both physically and technically, where Ongoing WMS will be their warehouse management system.

“Our sales have been accelerating in Sweden and of course it comes with logistic challenges. Therefore it feels reassuring to start using Ongoing WMS in our Swedish warehouse as well”, Petter Grålumstuen continues.

“Ongoing WMS has a public and well-developed API that is easy to integrate towards. The integration between Ongoing WMS and our web shop, ERP- and transport systems makes our warehouse operation efficient, automated and traceable”, Says Petter Grålumstuen.

Integration between Ongoing WMS and e-motions

Logistics automation company e-motions has recently made an integration towards Ongoing WMS.

Errors are eliminated and our transportation costs decline since we are able to accurately verify and match package volume metrics to freight invoices”, Says Gustav Jebsen, CEO at 360 Logistics, a Norwegian logistics provider that is using the system combination.

“The combination Ongoing WMS and e-motions is powerful. e-motions completely automates our sorting process together with Ongoing WMS. We get an absolute overview of the packages passing through the e-motions DWS (Dimension – weight scan). Errors are eliminated and our transportation costs decline since we are able to accurately verify and match package volume metrics to freight invoices”, Says Gustav Jebsen, CEO at 360 Logistics.

e-motions is specialized in automation solutions for ecommerce logistics and manufacturing companies. e-motion delivers conveyors and sorting equipment for ecommerce.

“When your packages are ready for shipment, you want packages going to abroad to be in a different load carrier than packages going to Norway. You also want to separate different carriers as well as freight zones, freight services and package sizes within the same carrier. The conveyor and DWS solution automatically moves packages from one location to another and handles the sorting process automatically”, Nils Brunke, CEO at e-motions says.

e-motions has used Ongoing´s API to integrate the two systems.

“Ongoing WMS has a well-developed automation API that is very easy to integrate towards. A great advantage is that the API is public on their website with clear instructions on how to integrate a conveyor-based automation solution. This saves us and our customers a lot of time. There are several 3PL companies who use the integration with great success, one of them being 360 Logistics”, Nils Brunke continues.

“The importance of automation systems is rapidly increasing, and in the future, we believe that they will be an essential part of logistics intensive companies. Therefore, we have put a lot of effort into developing the automation API. It has been a great success and many automation companies have already built integrations towards Ongoing WMS. The e-motion integration is important since it further strengthens our ecosystem of integrations with automation systems”, says Fredrik Einarsson, CEO at Ongoing Warehouse.

The integration automates the sorting process and increases precision as well as flexibility. When a package arrives at e-motions conveyor solution, the package is measured, and the information is sent to Ongoing WMS. e-motions conveyor solution scans the barcode of the package and receives relevant information from Ongoing WMS such as consignee address, zip code, name, etc. This allows the conveyor belt to automatically forward the package to the correct destination.

VersaFleet TMS

Integration between Ongoing WMS and VersaFleet TMS

Ongoing WMS integrates with Asia’s leading Transport Management Software (TMS) VersaFleet. Both solutions are complementary to each other and the integration between Ongoing WMS & VersaFleet TMS results in a complete end-to-end logistics management solution. The first company to use this integration is a Malaysian cold chain transporter & 3PL, Frostbyte Logistics.

The VersaFleet transport management system Software-as-a-Service (TMS SaaS) automates logistics operations with scheduling & route optimization, sign-on-glass, electronic Proof-Of-Delivery, instant notifications and real-time job status tracking. VersaFleet powers more than 2,000 users worldwide working across 150+ companies, including Fortune 500 brands like Watsons, Canon, Johnson & Johnson, as well as major 3PLs like XPO Logistics.

“The integration with Ongoing WMS strengthens our market position in Asia and supports our market expansion into Europe. Ongoing WMS is a great complement to our transport management system. Using the integration between the two systems results in an extremely efficient logistics process”, says Yvonne Toh, Customer Experience Manager at VersaFleet.

The integration allows for delivery orders to be automatically created as tasks in VersaFleet based on the order information from Ongoing WMS. A task is created in VersaFleet by clicking the “SEND” button in Ongoing WMS. Information about transportation status is then received from VersaFleet and is available in Ongoing WMS. This automated process eliminates any manual work from the operations team, thereby instantly removing any possible erroneous information that emerges from human error. This also saves the users time that would have resulted from updating both systems.

The main purpose of the integration is to make the last mile of the supply chain more efficient, especially with regards to the transportation planning process. This also leads to increased transparency and visibility throughout the supply chain with up to date information for all parties.

“Ongoing WMS now has an integration with one of the market-leading TMS´s in Asia. We have seen an increasing demand for our service in Asia and this integration makes an important step towards our international expansion. VersaFleet delivers a very competent TMS and I am sure that many companies will have great use of the integration” says Fredrik Einarsson, CEO at Ongoing Warehouse.
