Company: Stingray Marine Solutions, Norway
Industry: Advanced underwater systems for automatic salmon lice control
Why did you choose Ongoing WMS?: “Stingray was in the process of planning and establishing a new factory for node production in Groruddalen, Oslo, with AutoStore as the warehouse system, delivered by Element Logic and their system eManager. We were therefore looking for proven and well-functioning solutions from which we could draw inspiration and experience. Element Logic referred us to PetXL. They had a similar setup to what we were planning and had a stable and efficient integration between eManager and Ongoing WMS. After a reference visit, we saw the system in practice, and it became clear that Ongoing was a solution that suited our needs. This formed the basis for our collaboration."
How Ongoing WMS is used: "Ongoing functions as the core of our warehouse management system and reflects our planned production, inventory, and purchasing. Ongoing is the link between the ERP system and eManager, which handles what goes in and out of AutoStore. Ongoing is used daily by the logistics department for allocating goods, picking, and coordinating the flow of goods between the warehouse and production. The solution provides us with a comprehensive and efficient system that ensures a smooth flow of components and finished assemblies throughout the production process."
Key advantages/benefits: "Ongoing WMS was a central part of the leap Stingray took when we built our new factory in 2023. With the new warehouse and production system, where Ongoing plays an important role, Stingray has entered a new era of control and efficiency. The good collaboration with Ongoing has enabled us to scale sustainably in line with increased demand from aquaculture customers both domestically and internationally. As more employees have started using Ongoing in their daily work, we’ve easily created additional users in the system."
Collaboration with Ongoing: "From a logistics and purchasing perspective, we’ve had a personal software engineer who has been available, solution-oriented, and proactive in follow-up. He has helped find good solutions and make necessary adjustments in the system after startup. We’ve experienced close and direct dialogue with Ongoing, where our contact person has gained a good understanding of our work processes and needs. Stingray’s own software department has several times carried out small projects related to special needs together with Ongoing, and these have been executed efficiently, well, and cost-effectively."
The onboarding process: "From a logistics and purchasing perspective, Ongoing has been a system where you can have full control over what you want to manage. And with onboarding from the account manager, we were quickly introduced and received support for the functions we wanted to master. The issues we encountered after onboarding were quickly resolved when they arose."
Integrations used: "Stingray communicates with our in-house ERP system and with eManager (delivered by Element Logic)."
Additional comments: "Although we at Stingray do not utilize 100% of Ongoing’s full potential, we do not see this as a problem or feel that it makes our processes inefficient by not using all the features."
