Wepack AS: Saving Hours Every Day with Ongoing WMS

WEPACK AS, a third‑party logistics provider just south of Oslo, specializes in machine‑packing letter‑box‑ready parcels at high speed— with a capacity of around 100 000 boxes per week. When manual EDI creation and scattered tools began to cap that growth, the company moved its entire warehouse operation onto the cloud‑based Ongoing WMS.

“Ongoing WMS has made our warehouse management much clearer and has saved us many work hours every single day,” says Ingvild Finvåg , CEO at Wepack. “Previously we had to create most of the EDIs manually, but now we can ship far more packages each day since EDI for all carriers is generated at the touch of a button.”

Finvåg adds: ” Every item is scanned into the warehouse, and both the product’s barcode and the bin location are scanned during put‑away to ensure accurate registration. We rely on automatic order allocation for many customers and pick multiple orders at the same time. We also use the invoicing function and aim to roll it out for all our customers.”

A One‑Stop System for High‑Volume Parcel Logistics

Founded in 1996, Wepack has built its reputation on speed, flexibility and a fleet of automated packing machines. Yet the very volume that made the company stand out was creating bottlenecks behind the scenes.

“Ongoing was the company that could offer us the best and most comprehensive solution. In addition, we have many tasks here that don’t fit into a standard WMS system, and we were promised that Ongoing could deliver those,” recalls Finvåg.

Today the WMS covers the full workflow—from inbound receipt to picking, packing, label printing and invoicing—giving both staff and clients real‑time visibility in a single software.

Integrations That Match Client’s Tech‑Stack

Wepack’s customers range from webshops by Viskan to global webshop alternatives such as Shopify and WooCommerce, plus ERPs such as Tripletex AS.

Gustav Pettersson, Software Engineer at Ongoing, explains: “Some of their Viskan clients drop thousands of subscription orders at once. Now those orders flow straight into Ongoing and we generate the invoices automatically—instead of passing files back and forth by e‑mail or FTP. My impression is that the team at Wepack really like having everything collected in one place.”

Because Ongoing WMS ships with hundreds of pre‑built integrations and an open API, new customers can be onboarded in days rather than weeks—no matter which platform they use.

Invoices and Flexible Automation Solutions

High‑volume doesn’t mean one‑size‑fits‑all. Pettersson has delivered a set of tailored reports for Wepack: “They needed a document that works like a delivery note but is actually the customer’s invoice—printed so the address window lines up perfectly when the sheet is folded and put in the envelope,” he says. “That’s all generated straight out of Ongoing WMS.”

Similar flexibility drives the workflow from the company’s vertical lifts Logimat, by SSI SCHÄFER:

“We created a location in Ongoing called "LIFT". When orders are allocated, the system creates move tasks that the lift integration reads. The Wepack operator sees exactly what to pick, and once the items are removed the lift reports back so stock is updated.”

Collaboration That Delivers and Readyness for Next Growth Phase

Finvåg highlights the support and onboarding of the software: “It’s been very good! Our contact person has helped us with all the customizations and challenges that arose. He’s been available around the clock and has always been very quick to respond to us. And the onboarding with our webshop clients was quick, smooth, and easy. ”

By replacing manual touchpoints with automation and bringing every order source under one roof, Wepack has reclaimed hours of admin time each day. Moreover, their new setup means Wepack can handle even more parcels and take in more customers going into the future.
