RPG Logistics expands its business and invests in new IT-systems

RPG Logistics AB (recently purchased by Ntex), a company providing total solutions within the logistics sector is investing in modern IT-systems to develop their business further.

"We are focusing firmly on IT-systems that are in the forefront of the technical development. We want to offer our customers even better service and more efficient transport solutions. Also, investments in new IT-systems are essential to our internal processes, to make them work more efficiently and more structured. We have a goal to increase our volumes considerably in the coming years and we will require well-functioning IT-systems to support that", says Bo Ahlbom Marketing Director at RPG Logistics.

RPG Logistics has chosen to partner with the IT-companies Ongoing Warehouse and Fleet 101. The partnership means that RPG Logistics uses Ongoings webbased Warehouse Management System for its operations within 3PL, Yard Management, Intermodal terminals and crossdocking.

Fleet 101's transport management system will be used for transport and freight forwarding. The systems will be tightly integrated with each other and provide a coherent system, supporting throughout the entire transport process.

"We're moving soon (May 2012) to our new, ultra-modern logistics center, about 22 250 m2 adjacent to the Port of Gothenburg. It´s a "multi-purpose terminal" with crossdocking, indoor railway, warehouse and co-packing. The investment in new IT systems is an important step, especially for our customers. Electronic integration between ours, and our clients and of the portsystem allows logistics to function optimally through the Port of Gothenburg, "continues Bo Ahlbom.

"All our employees who drive forklifts, reachstackers, trailers / containerbearers or distribution trucks will handle all the tasks in real time on their Iphone or smartphone. We reduce the administrative time at the office and deal more with customer service. We think we can almost double the volume with the same workforce," concludes Bo Ahlbom.
