Successful Logistics Outsourcing and Seamless System Integration at Woodland Mills Europe AB

Woodland Mills Europe AB improved its distribution chain and sales processes by outsourcing logistics and integrating their business systems.

Woodland Mills Europe AB is a leading player in forestry equipment and faced the challenge of streamlining its distribution chain and sales processes for agents and resellers in Europe. To achieve this, they decided to outsource their logistics and warehousing to the third-party logistics provider (3PL) Storex which uses Ongoing WMS— Europe's leading web-based warehouse management system (WMS). Additionally, they chose to implement Gung, an innovative business platform for B2B and B2C sales, as well as the business system Fortnox for simple and smooth accounting.

Seamless Integration Possibilities Between Three Systems

Ongoing WMS is fully integrated with both Gung and Fortnox. With Gung's platform, Woodland Mills has seen a clear improvement in handling quotations and orders after growth imposed greater administrative demands. As Woodland's operations expanded, the need arose to extract the right data from Fortnox. Today, Gung complements Fortnox with data not supported by Fortnox but crucial for the business, such as bundled items, discount pricing, and product data.

Ongoing WMS retrieves data from both platforms and ensures efficient logistics management at their 3PL warehouse through a range of smart functions. Additionally, Ongoing WMS sends relevant data back to the systems; for example, when an order is processed, a signal is sent to Fortnox for invoicing. Another example is a tracking link sent to Woodland Mills' resellers using Gung, allowing them to see where shipments are in real-time. Each event in each system creates an automatic chain reaction of new events, saving users a significant amount of administrative work.
