Linda Wretman Becomes Ongoing’s First CFO
Ongoing is now taking the next step in its global expansion by recruiting its first Chief Financial Officer, Linda Wretman.
Founded in 1987, Trendsport has grown into one of Norway’s largest footwear wholesalers, serving both B2B and B2C customers. Their collections—designed specifically for the Scandinavian market—are driven by a focus on strong sales figures and healthy profit margins. With an online store in operation since 2006, Trendsport’s e‑commerce business eventually experienced explosive growth, creating a need for a robust warehouse management solution in 2017.
“We heard about Ongoing WMS through a contact in the 3PL industry,” explains Fredrik Skjolden, Co‑founder and Sales Manager at Trendsport. “We needed precise control over where each product lived in our warehouses, and Ongoing let us map SKUs exactly to the locations we wanted.”
Because Ongoing offered out‑of‑the‑box integrations with WooCommerce and flexible APIs for custom integrations, the decision was straightforward. Trendsport got Ongoing WMS up and running across all three existing sites in days—and immediately saw picking capacity surge. Two staff could now handle roughly 600 orders per day and with four people on the floor, that number doubled, all without needing to redesign the warehouse layout.
Shortly after go‑live, Trendsport consolidated into a single, larger fulfillment center operated by a 3PL partner running Trendsport's logistics exclusively in Ongoing WMS. The move was easy: data migrated, pick‑faces were re‑assigned, and barcode scanning went live without disrupting operations. Key to their efficiency has been the systems adaptability to the needs of Trendsport, using smart pick order creations, move orders and easy-to-use scanning interface.
Ongoing’s allocation logic has been configured to trigger replenishment straight from the buffer onto pick locations. When stock is allocated but not yet on a picking location—and the buffer won’t be fully emptied—Ongoing automatically generates move‑tasks to reposition goods. Full‑pallet picks bypass these extra move‑tasks to avoid unnecessary handling. To streamline scanning, orders are split into separate workflows: full‑pallet orders and individual‑package orders each get their own scanning sessions, tagged with a sort‑location suffix for clarity. Every scan filters out any order line that still has an outstanding move‑task, ensuring pickers only work on truly ready items.
Inventory across multiple web stores is managed against a single stock pool by leveraging distinct order types. This allows Trendsport to launch new Shopify stores or join marketplaces at will—each channel simply routes orders into its own queue, yet draws from the same real‑time inventory.
Trendsport’s integration ecosystem now includes Shopify, WooCommerce, nShift, 24SevenOffice, Inventory Planner —and even their proprietary admin panel—thanks to Ongoing’s robust API framework.
“Onboarding was excellent,” says Fredrik. “Our software engineer at Ongoing guided us through each step, and any time we encountered a hiccup, their response was immediate.”
“Working with Trendsport has been a textbook example of partnership,” adds Ellinor Lundblad , Software Engineer at Ongoing. “Their team understood the technical possibilities and wasn’t afraid to iterate quickly. Together, we fine‑tuned their queues, allocation rules, and scanning flows until everything ran like clockwork.”
With Ongoing WMS, Trendsport has built a logistics foundation that scales effortlessly. Whether opening a warehouse in Sweden, Germany, or China, they’ll replicate their proven configuration in hours—not months. As new e‑commerce channels emerge, Trendsport can integrate them instantly, confident that their backend processes will keep pace with customer demand.
Through focused collaboration, intelligent automation, and a shared commitment to excellence, Trendsport AS and Ongoing WMS have set a new standard for fast, flexible, and profitable footwear fulfillment in the Scandinavian market—and beyond.
